First Magnet Designation KHCC
Today is a very special day as we proudly contemplate crossing over one very idiosyncratic milestone; stepping into a golden era of triumphs in KHCC’s history, after receiving the long-anticipated call this afternoon, from the Chair of the Commission for the Magnet® Recognition Program, who delightedly congratulated us on officially becoming one of the ten most elite international hospitals, and the first Oncology Specialized Center outside of USA to be earning the prestigious Magnet® distinction.
The Magnet Recognition Program® administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), is the largest and most prominent nurses credentialing organization in the world; in which healthcare organizations that provide exceptional nursing care that improves the organizational outcomes are recognized.
After investing in this rigorous process, the nurses extensive efforts of this multiyear journey have finally came to fruition. This success is considered to only be the head start of a longer journey towards excellence, our teams will be investing our continuous efforts to further accomplish the Magnet recertification by sustaining the highest levels of performance in this upcoming challenge, as ANCC will be looking at the degree to which leaders transform the organization to meet changing needs, empower staff members, prepare them to face all challenges, promote exemplary professional practice, and evaluate outcomes throughout the entire organization.
None of these outstanding testaments of excellence would have been attainable without the guidance and leadership of HRH Princess Ghida Talal the chairperson of Our Board of Trustees and the unwavering support of our dedicated board members.
The success of being a Magnet® designated organization today would not have been seemingly possible without the efforts of Dr. Majeda Afeef, the Chief Nursing Officer, and her team of exceptional nurses, who took part in demonstrating this modest vision into a living reality by holding excellence, integrity, and compassion in their hands every day to provide the very best to our patients, not to mention, the unrelenting efforts and exceptional collaborative relationships of our management and staff members who have taken part in this delightful journey.
This memorable day will mark its significant trace in the history of Oncology Specialized Centers both regionally and globally, and I couldn’t be any prouder to witness achieving this tangible evidence of our commitment to providing superior patient care.
I am honored to be part of this unique KHCC community, and trust that each and every one of our big family will remain dedicated and will strive to exceed expectations, as always.Asem Mansour
